Day 3 - Day of Rest and Travel

This morning some of us went to church and to the Santo Domingo temple and others had free time until 11:30am.  Here we are loading up the bus as we leave the Hotel Eurpoa in Santo Domingo. 

We then checked out of the hotel and traveled to Boca Marina restaurant for an amazing meal and view.  This was our view during lunch.




Boca Marina was hit hard by the hurricane and so they are doing repairs on the main floor. They have built a second floor and so that is where we ate. We had an amazing meal and a great time getting to know each other better.















After lunch we traveled east to San Pedro and checked into the hotel at Playa Esmeralda. We have a Christmas tree and decorations in the lobby. Dominicans start getting ready for Christmas in early November...perhaps because they don't have Thanksgiving in November. We are loving seeing the decorations and also sang Christmas music in church today!


After we checked in, we traveled to La Romana to see a baseball game. Winter League Baseball is very popular here and many pro players come here to play. So we went to see the Toros play. The game was riot....they have their own band and the crowd was much more animated than games in the states. We had a great time, danced to 'Gangnam Style' and cheered the Toros on to victory!






The day was great and we are very tired. Tomorrow is our 2nd clinic and so we are heading to bed for some needed rest before a busy day. Until tomorrow!
