We started our day early leaving from the Hotel Europa. Some toured the city, others went to church.
This group went to church early and then stopped by the grounds of the Mormon Temple in Santo Domingo. 
We left the hotel at 11:00AM for lunch together at Boco Chica where we were entertained with a hula dance and then...
Our own Dr. Michele Yamada presented Dr. Johanna Diaz (Dean of the dental school) and Dr. Hisan (whose family owns the charity that operates the dental school) with $5000 in scholarship money to help needed Dominican dental students. 
After lunch it was onto the bus for a four hour ride to The State and City f Samana where we are staying at the Las Galeras Hotel. 
Tonight at dinner we heard a VERY inspirational presentation from Vicki Valle who (with her husband Dave) started Esperanza International in 1991...We are grateful for a day of rest and are excited for tomorrow.
