Many thoughts of gratitude and appreciation go out to Dr. Roy and Glenda Hammond for their tireless efforts serving the people and us too. Also a special shout out to Mike and Teresa Larsen for leading our clinic days and being great team leaders and organizers. Finally this trip wouldn't have been the same without Marisa and Andrew from Esperanza. They were right there with us all the time interpreting, teaching, and guiding us every step of the way. Their dedication was inspiring.
I leave the DR different than when I arrived. I have seen true poverty and unbearable living conditions. I've also experienced the joy of helping someone regain a smile, been inspired by the hope and perseverance of the associates of Esperanza, and have seen the goodness of my fellow team members reaching out to make a difference in the world. I am humbled and so incredibly fortunate to have had this experience and hope many of you reading this blog will have an opportunity to do the same.
Until next time............
