THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH

We set up on the top floor. It was open but the breeze was very nice. You could see for miles. The Batey we were at today has been set up by a doctor and he is trying to create an example of a better way of life. It was by far the most modern area we have worked in.

Dr. Dennis Hetland and team

SETTING UP - LAST CLINIC DAY!
As predicted when we arrived we have become a team. The Spanish word for team is equipo. The leadership and culture that Dr. Hammond has created is incredible. Every single person on this team was a willing w.i.t.  And the spirit of unity and cooperation was evident every day.

Our final stop for the day was at the university where there is a very modern dental school. The school is 4 years and students go year round. Unlike the US students begin right after high school.  Students who graduate high school with a grade average of 95 or higher go to dental school for free. There are also foreign students including several from the US. The tuition rate is $13,500 per year.
